by BASF will retain at least 90% of it’s pile fiber, subject to the
following limitations:
This warranty does not cover use of cut pile carpet on stairs. This
warranty does not cover tears, burns or cuts, or pile loss or damage due to
improper use of the application of improper cleaning agents or maintenance

Barrett Carpet Mills warrants that this carpet will
resist permanent stains caused by spills of all substances for the ten years
following its installation, subject to the following limitations: Four types
of spots are excluded.
- General soiling can cause a color change as a result of tracked in
dirt. Soiling is not covered by this warranty.
- Spots from chemical spills that degrade or destroy the nylon fiber are
also excluded.
- Appearance change from pile distortion is not considered a stain.
Please refer to the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Carpet and Rug Care

cause pile distortion.
- Damage from the use of inappropriate cleaning chemicals or surface
treatments are excluded.
Carpet that has been subjected to abnormal use or
conditions is also excluded. The carpet must be installed indoors.
To make a warranty claim:
- The owner must have implemented a comprehensive maintenance
program in accordance with the CRI publication, "Carpet and Rug Care
Guide". - The owner must have attempted to remove the stain within three
days of the spill occurrence using methods and cleaning agents
outlined in the CRI’s "Carpet and Rug Care Guide".. If this
cleaning was unsuccessful, the owner must have immediately hired an
accredited professional cleaner to remove the stain. If this professional
cleaning was unsuccessful, the owner may submit a claim in writing to the
carpet contractor or retailer that supplied the carpet. The written claim
must include the original bill of sale, a non-returnable uninstalled
carpet sample for testing by Barrett, and a letter from the professional
cleaner describing the spot and the cleaning procedures applied, with a
statement that the spot could not be removed.
If, under testing and analysis performed by Barrett, the
tested carpet or cleaned area is found to have a rating of less than 4.0 on
the AATCC Gray Scale for Evaluating Change in Color, Barrett will designate
a professional cleaner to attempt to remove the stain (the owner must
provide timely access). If Barrett’s cleaner is unsuccessful, Barrett will
pay for this cleaning and replace the carpet in the affected area, up to 100
times the area of the stain. If the stain is removed by Barrett’s cleaner,
all cleaning costs will be the responsibility of the owner.
Barrett may, at its option, refund the owner the purchase
price for the carpet in the area affected, up to 100 times the area of the
stain, plus installation as outlined herein. Labor charges relating to floor
preparation and the movement of equipment and furnishings are excluded from
this non-transferable warranty. Allowable re-installation labor costs are
limited to (1) $4 per square yard or (2) $100 when the area affected is less
